ZANEC 10th General Assembly from 14th to 15th December, 2023

The Zambia National Education Coalition (ZANEC) 10th General Assembly took place from 14th to 15th December, 2024 under the theme “celebrating 20 years of advocacy for quality and inclusive education”. The General Assembly also elected new Board of Governors from 2024 to 2026. The following were elected:

1. Chairperson – Mr. Henry Kabwe – Media Network on Child Rights and Development (MNCRD).

2. Vice Chairperson – Ms. Victoria Kalomo Mbandu – Basic Education Teachers Union of Zambia (BETUZ)

3. Board Secretary – Mr. Paul Zulu – Sport Aid Development Trust

4. Vice Board secretary – Ms. Violet Pikiti Sitwala – Archie Hinchcliff Disability Intervention (AHDI)

5. Treasurer – Mr. Costern Kanchele – Forum for African Women Educationalist of Zambia (FAWEZA)

7. Board Member, Chairperson for Early Childhood Development Subsector Committee – Mr. Kataso Bambala Bwafwano Integrated Service Organisation (BISO)

8. Board Member Chairperson for Basic Education (Primary and Secondary Schools)- Subsector Committee – Mr. Saka Sokontwe Independent Schools Association of Zambia (ISAZ)

9. Board Member, Chairperson for Skills and Tertiary Subsector Committee – Mr. Ackson Banda – Volunteer Welfare for Community Based Care of Zambia (VOWAZA)

10. Board Member, Chairperson for Gender and Equity Subsector Committee – Mr. Reuben Zulu – Chimwemwe Organisation for Promotion of Childhood Rights Education and Development (COPCRED)

11. Board Member, Chairperson for Youth Adult and Literacy Education (YALE) Subsector Committee – Mr. Simon Mubita – Virgins and Male Circumcision Empowerment Zambia (VMCEZ)
